Penn State police officers will celebrate National Coffee with a Cop Day on Wednesday, Oct. 7, by hosting events at campuses across Pennsylvania. Students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to stop by for complimentary coffee and refreshments while getting to know the officers and University Police and Public Safety employees who serve their campus.
The informal events provide an opportunity to ask questions, discuss campus safety and learn about the programs and services offered by University Police. Attendees who are interested in public safety careers also can speak with UPPS employees about employment opportunities and what it is like to serve the Penn State community.
Events will be held Wednesday, Oct. 7 at the following times and locations. Refreshments are available while supplies last.
- Abington: 9 – 10:30 a.m., Woodland Lobby
- Altoona: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Port Sky Cafe
- Beaver: 10 a.m. – noon, Brodhead Bistro Patio
- Behrend: 9 a.m. – noon , Reed Union Building
- Berks: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Perkins Student Center Lion’s Den
- Brandywine: 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m., Main Building Lounge
- Dickinson Law: 9 – 11 a.m., Trickett Hall
- DuBois: 9:30 – 11 a.m., Lion’s Den Cafe
- Fayette: 10 – 11 a.m., Williams Building
- Greater Allegheny: 9 – 10 a.m., Frable Building, second-floor student lounge
- Lehigh Valley: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Center Hall
- New Kensington: 10 a.m. – noon, Main Lobby by The Junction
- Scranton: 10 – 11:30 a.m., SLC Patio
- Shenango: 8:30 – 10:30 a.m., Great Hall
- University Park: 8 – 10 a.m., Pollock Commons (near Market Pollock)

- Hazleton: Tuesday, October 6, 10 a.m. – noon, Butler Building, Upper Level
- Schuylkill: Wednesday, October 14, noon – 1 p.m., Student Community Center
- Wilkes-Barre: Monday, October 5, 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., Student Commons
Coffee with a Cop events are designed to remove barriers and encourage conversation in a relaxed setting. No presentations or formal
agendas are planned, and registration is not required.
Those considering a career in public safety are encouraged to attend and speak with UPPS representatives about auxiliary student, police and other departmental opportunities.
